Biography

At 5 feet 1 inches tall and 95 lbs (as of 9-1-08), Kyle is a very interesting and unusual 13 year-old. Although small in stature, Kyle possesses an unusual combination of big time talents. Most notably, he is an exceptional student in school, a national fitness award winner, an accomplished martial artist - and World Champion in weapons. Kyle's has been blessed with exceptional body control, flexibility and hand eye coordination. In addition, he has rhythm in dance and role playing talents - that just make him fun to be around. Some parents at one of his martial arts school began calling him the 'little red firecracker'.

At a very young age Kyle showed interest in movies and television - more specifically, he always wanted to be a Power Ranger. This was most evident by the punishment he dealt his parents furniture from the kicks, jumps and flips he unleashed upon them. As a result, his parents enrolled him in tumbling classes at the tender age of 4 and then moved him into martial arts just a year later. Within a year or so it became apparent that Kyle had some unique skills and a real thing for martial arts. After training for a couple of years, Kyle began competing nationally at the age of 8 – with some terrific results. He has amassed over 300 trophies and medals in the last 4 ½ years of competition. His potential has been realized - and Kyle has now reached the pinnacle in the martial arts industry - he is a World Champion.

Although sparring and fighting are an integral aspect of martial arts, Kyle will tell you that extreme martial arts is what he enjoys most. These creative and choreographed events (open hand and weapon forms) push competitors to the physical and mental edge when executing kicks, strikes and aerial maneuvers during simulated fights scenes. Kyle will tell you that - he loves to perform!

Kyle's success in martial arts was first recognized publicly by a local writer in February 2005. The writer witnessed his skills and learned of the success he was having; and as a result a complimenting article was done. It was published in 'Kids N Sports the magazine' – which covers children’s sports here in the southeast. CBS/Fox news saw the article and showed up at his martial arts school wanting to do a story on him. Unfortunately for all, he was unavailable as he was away competing at a tournament at the time.

In June of 2005, Kyle was one of many who auditioned for the ATA/STF/WTTU World Demo Team (WDT). Fortunately for him, his ability was recognized and he was asked to join the team. A terrific honor, Kyle is now able to workout and perform with some of the highest level martial artists from all over the United States. The World Demo Team is a one-year commitment to perform at major martial arts events nationally – and these events will take place in Orlando, Little Rock and Las Vegas. There is little that Kyle enjoys more - than working out and performing with the WDT.

A few months later, Kyle won a contest of skill for Subway restaurants and he has now become one of the 10 nationally recognized ‘Subway Champions’. He was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to fly to Dallas in October of 2005 and shoot a TV commercial and some print work. Just six weeks later Kyle flew to Hawaii, again for Subway, to shoot 3 more commercials along with Bethany Hamilton. These commercials have been running since November 2005 – and will continue to run until the September 2006 timeframe.

In June of 2006, the ATA World Demo Team gave a performance called “The Legend of Baeoh” at the opening ceremonies of the 2006 ATA World Championships. This story was written and produced by Mr Lucas Taekwon Lee – and has since been developed into a hard cover book. A grounding breaking performance in the martial arts industry – this performance was enjoyed by approximately 5,000 in attendance.

A couple of months later, ATA World Magazine asked Kyle to be part of a feature article in an upcoming issue. So just prior to the fall nationals tournament, he did a photo shoot in a school local to Orlando. Kyle had a lot of fun with the interview and the shoot. The article turned out great.

In the spring of 2007, the ATA World Demo Team decided to put on a performance called “On the road of life… Adam’s journey” at the World Championships in mid-June. This performance aligned itself with the theme for the World Championships – “Life: Powered by ATA!” The story depicted the life of a mature gentleman (a master) who looked back at the decision to enter martial arts (ATA) at a very young age - and how that decision effected and shaped who he is today. Kyle was asked to play the part of ‘young’ Adam in the performance. He flew to Los Angeles and shot a short film called “Initiation.” The film was produced by Lucas Taekwon Lee and directed by Ian Truitner in a Burbank studio. This essence of the film showed how Adam (Kyle) made the choice to enter martial arts (ATA) – and then overcame reluctance to make ATA a part of his life.

Although difficult to predict one’s future, one thing is clear – that ATA has shaped Kyle’s life over the past 7 1/2 years – in so many positive ways. As his master (Chief Master William Clark) recently noted, “He has come out of his shell.” As his parent, the decision to make ATA a part of his life – has been rewarding and life changing to say the least.

At the young age of 13, he is now trying to coach other kids in their martial arts training and exhibitions. He also loves to create extreme and creative martial routines and demonstrations – from scratch. He understands what the audience sees, hears and feels – during these performances. It is fun to watch him work.

Kyle has always been passionate about TV and movies, but his recent experiences have brought about an enormous fever for the big screen. As some have noted, "He has been bitten by the bug.” Kyle’s passion to perform, and even direct, is now through the roof! And if the big screen comes calling - Kyle has made it clear that he intends to do his own stunts. His favorite actors are Jackie Chan and Michael Chat – no surprise there.

Kyle has now decided that he wants to pursue a career in acting, film making and dance. He plans on attending Douglas Anderson School of the Arts - here in Jacksonville.

In summary, Kyle is an "A" student in school with a creative flair, a nationally ranked martial artist, a national fitness award winner and more importantly - a kind hearted and respectful kid. The many who know him truly realize how special he is and believe that he will be successful at whatever challenges he chooses to pursue.
